Essex House by Clevelander is a historic hotel located in South Beach, Miami Beach, Florida. Built in 1938, it's an iconic example of Art Deco architecture, designed by renowned architect Albert Anis. Originally named the St. Moritz, it was one of the first luxury hotels to grace Miami Beach.

The War Years

During World War II, Essex House served a different purpose. It transformed into a military hospital, caring for wounded soldiers returning from Europe. After the war ended, the hotel resumed its role as a luxurious retreat.

Attracting the Stars

Over the years, Essex House has played host to a star-studded clientele, including legendary figures like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Marilyn Monroe, and Muhammad Ali.

Today

In 2014, Essex House underwent a meticulous restoration to preserve its Art Deco charm while incorporating modern comforts. Today, it stands as a boutique hotel with 70 stylish rooms and suites, continuing its legacy as a South Beach landmark.
